Double Standard in the LGBT community?

I just want to know how everyone feels about these double standards when it comes to acceptance in the lgbt community. Many straight men cant stand to be around gay men, yet love lesbians, and have no qualms about making a pass at them. Many Straight women have that male gay best friend, think gay guys are the funniest and the sweetest, or watch shows and movies with gay males yet get creeped when around lesbians. I basically feel like both groups have exceptions to when being gay is okay. I just wanted to know why people think that is and how they feel about it.
